Mike went back to work today and let’s just say it’s been entertaining watching him figure out what our new work setup is going to be!

We have a desk area on our owner’s side of the cabin, a navigation station in the inside salon, and the main dining table in the salon. Since we’ve been here, we’ve both setup shop on the dining table, but now that we’re both working, having meetings is proving a bit challenging. Several times today, Mike has moved to the outdoor salon for his call.

Besides that, we’ve continued to work on what is going to be our never-ending list of boat projects. Here’s our list for today-

  • Mike bought a new bilge pump for the dinghy – a bilge pump is a general term for a pump used to remove water from a space. We have several bilge pumps within the hulls that work to keep excess water from accumulating. Last night, there was quite a bit of rain, so the dinghy filled up with water. When he originally tried to pump it out, he discovered it was broken, so he replaced it.

  • We reached out to a local sailmaker about getting some custom covers made for our paddleboards. For our birthdays, my parents got us inflatable paddleboards that we of course wanted with us on the boat. Our paddleboards are made out of the same material our dinghy is, and due to this need some extra sun protection so they don’t wear down. The sailmaker came over and got some measurements to create a sail-canvas sleeve for each board and also is going to make a fitting so they can be stored outside for easy access!

  • We reached back out to the generator guy and are still waiting on the part to arrive. Everything here is “island-time” – sometimes things are shipped in one week, sometimes four weeks.

  • Mike started to reorganize the forward guest berth so that we could access our water maker to see if it works. From what he can tell it does, but it needs a service check.

  • I started to remove the stitching from our stackpack that has the name “Windancer”. The stackpack is the handling system for our mainsail – it helps raise and lower the mainsail and provides coverage from the outside elements.

Ollie continues to find spots and make nests!
